POSTHUMOUS MEMOIR DETAILS ALLEGATIONS OF ENTITLEMENT AND ABUSE AGAINST SENIOR ROYAL

by Hannah Southwick

A posthumously published memoir contains new allegations from a woman who was a central figure in a high-profile trafficking case, detailing encounters with a senior member of the British Royal Family. The book, set for release this week, recounts the author’s claims of being exploited as a teenager.

The author writes that she was introduced to the royal in London in 2001 by a woman later convicted for her role in a trafficking conspiracy. In an excerpt, she describes being told she would “meet a handsome prince.” She alleges that upon meeting, the royal commented on her age, noting his own daughters were slightly younger.

A now-infamous photograph from that meeting, showing the royal with his arm around the then-teenager, has been widely circulated. The royal has previously called the image a fabrication and has consistently denied all allegations, though these denials remain unverified by independent evidence.

The memoir describes a subsequent evening out, portraying the royal as an awkward dancer who “sweated profusely.” This account directly contradicts the royal’s own past public statement, in which he claimed a medical condition prevented him from sweating. The author alleges the evening concluded with an encounter at a residence, which she characterizes as brief and transactional. She claims she was later paid a substantial sum of money by the late financier at the center of the trafficking ring for, as she terms it, her role that night.

Further allegations in the book describe two other alleged encounters, including one at a private island and another in New York that she claims involved several other young women. The royal has categorically denied ever meeting the author or participating in any such events.

Despite his denials, the royal settled a civil lawsuit brought by the author out of court in 2022. The author died earlier this year. Her memoir, completed before her death, presents her firsthand narrative of these events and her subsequent fight for legal accountability.
