FORMER PRESIDENT SEEKS RELEASE OF GRAND JURY RECORDS IN HIGH-PROFILE CASE

In a significant development, a former U.S. president has formally requested that the nation’s top legal officer pursue the public disclosure of sealed grand jury materials connected to a notorious criminal investigation. The move is framed as an effort to counter what he describes as widespread misinformation surrounding the matter.

The request was made public through a social media statement late Thursday. In it, the former president directed the attorney general to seek judicial approval for releasing all relevant testimony, calling the prolonged focus on the case a politically motivated “scam” that should be terminated. The attorney general promptly responded, indicating a readiness to file the necessary motions with the court.

This push for transparency comes amid renewed media scrutiny of the former president’s past association with the central figure of the case, the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. A recent news report highlighted a controversial document allegedly authored by the former president decades ago. According to the report, the item was a birthday note contained within a commemorative book, featuring stylized artwork and typed text that included a cryptic dialogue. The former president has denied authorship of this document.

Epstein, who was convicted years earlier on state prostitution charges, died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on more serious federal charges. His case, and that of his convicted associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, has been the subject of intense public interest and speculation for years.

The former president’s latest action seeks to bring previously confidential judicial proceedings into the public domain, potentially reshaping the ongoing narrative around one of the most scrutinized criminal episodes in recent memory.
