TRUMP SEEKS DISTANCE FROM EPSTEIN CONTROVERSY, BIOGRAPHER CLAIMS

by Nicki Gostin

A new analysis suggests former President Donald Trump is actively attempting to distance himself from the long-running scandal surrounding the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to a biographer familiar with Trump’s thinking, the former president’s strategy is one of deliberate avoidance.

The biographer stated that Trump had long preferred to ignore the Epstein matter entirely. This position reportedly shifted only when political allies began generating significant attention around the potential release of documents related to Epstein’s associates. The source characterized Trump’s current stance as being “at war” with elements of the federal justice system over the handling of the issue, which he views as a problem he did not create.

The connection stems from a past association. In a previously recorded interview, Epstein himself once claimed a decade-long close friendship with Trump. Given Epstein’s subsequent conviction and symbolic status, this historical link is now seen as a significant liability. The biographer argues this is the core reason for Trump’s alleged desire to “push this away.”

Public statements from Trump align with a narrative of dismissal. He has recently framed the ongoing discussion as a politically motivated attack, orchestrated by opponents to damage his administration and his supporters. He has publicly praised officials involved and dismissed the focus on Epstein, suggesting the matter is settled history.

This posture has been described by observers as “pure denial,” an insistence that there is nothing of substance to examine and that he is entirely separate from the affair. However, this approach has not fully quelled unrest within his own political base. The failure to release certain expected information has led to visible frustration among some supporters, signaling that the issue remains a point of internal tension.

While one prominent supporter has publicly stated he will defer to administration officials on the matter, this appears to be an exception. The Epstein controversy continues to present a persistent challenge, one that the former president reportedly wishes would simply disappear.
