ADAM SANDLER CREDITS GEORGE CLOONEY FOR HIS UNCHARACTERISTIC RED CARPET STYLE

Comedian Adam Sandler, long celebrated for his defiantly casual public wardrobe, has recently been spotted in a series of tailored suits while promoting his latest film. The unexpected sartorial shift, he reveals, is entirely due to the persuasive influence of his co-star, George Clooney.

The pair are currently on a press tour for the upcoming Netflix comedy Jay Kelly, in which Clooney portrays a famous actor and Sandler plays his manager. At a recent Los Angeles premiere, Sandler appeared in a sharp navy suit, a notable departure from his typical attire of baggy hoodies, basketball shorts, and sneakers.

When asked about the polished look, Sandler explained it was a gesture of goodwill toward Clooney. “I’m doing this for his sake, because I like Clooney. He’s a very nice man,” Sandler stated. He humorously admitted that when he arrives dressed in his preferred, relaxed style, Clooney’s visibly disappointed reaction compels him to reconsider. “He looks so hurt by it that I said, ‘Alright, let me throw a suit on.'”

Sandler’s wife, Jackie, with whom he coordinated in navy at the event, was also acknowledged. The actor joked that their matching outfits were “luck,” praising his wife’s innate sense of style while downplaying his own fashion efforts.

This new look stands in stark contrast to Sandler’s recent appearance at a major awards ceremony, where his choice of a hoodie and athletic shorts drew public commentary and became a talking point. Sandler has previously defended his comfortable aesthetic, emphasizing personal comfort over formal expectations.

The film Jay Kelly, directed by Noah Baumbach, follows the duo on a journey across Europe and is already generating awards season buzz. It is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in mid-November before streaming globally on Netflix in early December. For now, audiences can expect to see a more formally attired Adam Sandler on the red carpet—courtesy of a friendly intervention from George Clooney.
