In the wake of the newest season’s release, a long-standing cast member of the popular reality series has opened up about the intense emotional toll this cycle of filming took on her and the entire brokerage.
“There’s been a massive change in the atmosphere,” the agent shared, describing the latest installment as both highly dramatic and deeply emotional. She pointed to a combination of shifting interpersonal dynamics, the group’s struggle to move past old conflicts, and several serious personal crises—including a devastating wildfire season and a break-in at her own home—as factors that made this season particularly challenging for everyone involved.
The season also introduced a new face to the office, a move the veteran agent praised. “I’m thrilled with the new addition. She brings fantastic energy, a great sense of humor, and a really positive vibe that added a fresh dynamic,” she said, noting that the newcomer has integrated well with several other agents. Having been with the firm since its television debut, she took it upon herself to mentor the new agent, especially given the unprecedented pressures of the current real estate market, which she described as more difficult than the 2008 housing crisis.
However, the persistent off-camera drama had tangible professional consequences. “It impacts every single one of us,” she explained. “It hurts our productivity and our reputation. This is a global show, but these are our real clients. That kind of behavior doesn’t look professional, and unfortunately, I’ve lost deals because of it. People don’t want to be associated with the chaos.” She expressed a desire for the group to leverage their unique platform for positivity and inspiration, rather than conflict.
While episodes teased her potential departure from the brokerage, she confirmed she remains with the firm for now, albeit with a strong caveat. “I am not going to keep going through this cycle repeatedly,” she stated firmly. “The dynamic has to change. The personal, below-the-belt accusations are not something I want in my life. I’m focused on positivity and self-improvement.”
The season featured significant confrontations, including a deeply personal argument between two co-stars that led to one being asked to leave the office to de-escalate tensions. Combined with the trauma of her home invasion, the agent admitted she was pushed to an emotional breaking point, even leading her to quit drinking to better manage her heightened state. She has also strictly avoided social media to protect her mental health.
She revealed that the filming of the season reunion was especially grueling, a 13-hour marathon that she described as “pure chaos,” and noted that key context was edited out, leaving the cast frustrated. The lingering anxiety from the break-in, with nightly news of nearby robberies, also left her sleep-deprived and on edge during filming.
Looking ahead, her future on the show remains uncertain and is directly tied to the conduct of those around her. “It depends entirely on the dynamic, the cast, and how people choose to behave,” she declared. “I’m not interested in being part of something overwhelmingly negative. I won’t sign up for that again.”
Despite the season’s strains, she maintains that her relationships with most of her colleagues are solid. “I’m in a much better place now. I want good relationships with everyone, but I’m a fixer who has reached my limit,” she concluded. “I’m not going to compromise my own peace of mind because others can’t get along or are chasing more screen time. I’m going to focus on myself, do my best, and let others be responsible for their own actions.”
