TENSIONS ON FILM SET SPILL INTO COURTROOM AS CO-STARS TRADE ALLEGATIONS

Newly revealed legal documents have pulled back the curtain on a behind-the-scenes dispute between two actors, alleging a confrontation involving several major celebrities.

According to filings in an ongoing lawsuit, actor and director Justin Baldoni visited the New York City apartment of his co-star Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in April 2023. During the meeting, Reynolds is said to have angrily confronted Baldoni over a comment perceived as a criticism of Lively’s weight. The documents claim Reynolds told Baldoni it was “horrible” to ask a woman about her weight, an exchange that allegedly left Baldoni “completely embarrassed” and offering a tearful apology. The filings state that singers Taylor Swift and actor Hugh Jackman were present during this incident.

This alleged confrontation is part of a wider legal battle. Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in late 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and of orchestrating a smear campaign against her—claims Baldoni has consistently denied.

The dispute appears to stem from interactions on the set of their film. A resurfaced video from filming shows Baldoni making a comment to Lively, followed by him pointing out she had something in her teeth and asking for a toothpick. He then made an unclear remark about another co-star before stating, “Sorry, I missed the sexual harassment training,” and rolling his eyes at the camera. Baldoni’s legal team has argued the comment was “entirely unremarkable,” noting Lively was wearing casual clothing at the time.

Further complicating the case, recent court motions include a deleted scene from May 2023. Baldoni’s legal team claims Lively improvised a kiss during a scene that was not scripted to include one, and that she “oversaw” the moment. They contend this shows a contradictory pattern of behavior. Lively’s side has previously stated there would be “no more improvising of kissing” after a production hiatus, and they dispute the characterization of the earlier scenes.

With both parties firmly denying the other’s allegations, a trial is scheduled for March 2026, where the actors are expected to testify directly. The case highlights how off-screen conflicts can escalate, drawing in personal relationships and culminating in high-stakes legal proceedings.
