Actress Ashley Park has shared insights into the upcoming fifth season of the popular series Emily in Paris, describing the production as an expansive experience that ventured beyond the show’s usual Parisian setting.
Reflecting on the filming process, Park noted that the scale of the season felt particularly large. “We filmed across multiple locations, and it truly felt like we were making several films,” she remarked. The actress, who portrays Mindy Chen, mentioned that the recent trailer only hints at the Roman segment of the story, with significant portions also shot in Paris and Venice. She expressed enthusiasm for the new environments and narrative directions explored this season.
The change in filming locales also came with cultural and culinary perks. Park humorously admitted to indulging in ample amounts of pasta while working in Italy, contrasting the familiar comfort of Paris with the fresh excitement of exploring Rome and Venice.
Beyond her work on the series, Park is currently involved in a passion project close to her heritage. She has helped develop “CHROMA: Tales Between Hues,” an immersive art installation in New York City that explores Korean folklore through color, light, and digital projection. For Park, the project represents a meaningful fusion of her identity as a Korean-American artist.
“It allows me to connect with my heritage in a contemporary and artistic way,” she explained. “The installation is built around emotion as a universal language, similar to how we respond to music or color. I hope visitors can walk through and find a personal connection.”
Park also spoke about her evolving perspective on being a public figure within the Asian-American community. While she once felt the weight of such representation, she now views it as a point of pride and a welcome opportunity to spotlight meaningful cultural work.
The “CHROMA” installation is now open to the public in New York’s Meatpacking District. Meanwhile, fans can anticipate the new season of Emily in Paris, which promises to deliver the show’s signature charm alongside fresh European backdrops.
