The 82nd Golden Globe Awards officially launched the 2025 awards circuit on Sunday, with stars descending upon the Beverly Hilton for a night of celebration and high fashion. The evening marked a hosting debut for comedian Nikki Glaser, who promised an entertaining but approachable tone for the ceremony.
In comments ahead of the show, Glaser emphasized her intent to keep the atmosphere light. “I understand what it’s like to be on the other side of a joke,” she remarked, suggesting that her monologue would aim for humor without malice. “The goal is laughter, not anxiety.”
As the arrivals began, the red carpet transformed into a showcase of bold style and elegance.
Dakota Fanning, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, made a striking entrance in a vibrant red gown. Model Ashley Graham commanded attention in a sleek black gown with a dramatic plunge neckline, while acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett embodied old Hollywood glamour in a shimmering gold dress.
Nominee Glen Powell opted for classic sophistication in a black tuxedo, attending with his parents. Amy Adams chose a rich maroon off-the-shoulder dress, and Kate Hudson sparkled in a navy blue sequined number.
The host herself, Nikki Glaser, wore a gold silk gown with a floral-adorned cape detail. Jonathan Van Ness made a statement in a strapless emerald green gown, and fellow nominee Cynthia Erivo stood out in a uniquely patterned ensemble.
Other notable looks included singer Maren Morris in a sculptural red gown, actress Allison Janney in a navy halter dress, and Mindy Kaling in a gleaming gold frock. “The Bear” co-stars Liza Colón-Zayas and Abby Elliott both chose shades of blue, with Elliott’s dress featuring a pearl-embellished neckline.
Completing the scene, actor Tyler James Williams wore a metallic chrome suit, and comedian Matt Rife chose a sharp all-black ensemble.
The event sets the stage for the weeks of accolades and fashion moments to come as the entertainment industry honors its finest achievements of the past year.
