A Minnesota man is facing federal charges following his arrest in connection with an alleged online threat against a former high-ranking government official.

Authorities allege that a 29-year-old individual used a social media platform to post a video targeting Pam Bondi, the former Attorney General of Florida. The post reportedly superimposed a graphic resembling a sniper’s crosshair over an image of Bondi and included text offering a substantial monetary reward for her death, specifying a preference for a lethal outcome. The post was accompanied by a comment that investigators interpreted as a threatening message.

The investigation began earlier this month after a tip was submitted to a national threat center. Federal agents, utilizing information from technology and internet service providers, traced the account to the suspect. Court documents indicate the individual’s social media profile featured anarchist symbolism.

The suspect, who has a prior criminal history in multiple states including convictions for felony stalking and domestic violence, was taken into custody. Following a court appearance, he was released under a stringent set of pre-trial conditions. These include travel restrictions, a prohibition on possessing weapons or consuming alcohol, mandatory mental health treatment, GPS monitoring, and severely limited internet access.

Through his legal counsel, the accused has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges. The case remains under federal investigation.
