FORMER PRESIDENT SEEKS RELEASE OF EPSTEIN GRAND JURY RECORDS AMID RENEWED SCRUTINY

In a significant development, former President Donald Trump has formally requested that the Attorney General seek the unsealing of grand jury testimonies from the investigation into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The move is framed as an effort to counter what he has publicly labeled a politically motivated narrative surrounding the case.

The request was made public through a social media statement, where the former president called for the release of all pertinent grand jury records, pending judicial approval. He characterized the ongoing focus on the Epstein matter as a deceptive campaign. The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, responded swiftly, indicating a readiness to petition the court to make the transcripts public.

This push for transparency comes amid heightened media attention on the Epstein case. Recent reports have resurfaced details of a personal artifact—a leather-bound birthday book from over two decades ago—allegedly containing a note from Trump to Epstein. The described note, said to include a stylized drawing and typed text referencing a private friendship, has been denied by the former president.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His earlier 2008 Florida plea deal, related to soliciting a minor for prostitution, has long been a subject of public and legal controversy.

The former president’s current effort to unveil the grand jury proceedings is presented as a bid to address what he claims is widespread misinformation, setting the stage for a potential legal and political confrontation over the sealed records.
