Model Kendall Jenner commanded attention on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, arriving at the 2024 Met Gala in a striking black archival gown by Givenchy. Her appearance came just hours after her former partner, musician Bad Bunny, who is serving as a co-chair for the event, walked the red carpet.
Jenner revealed the dress was a significant find. “I am the first person to ever wear it,” she stated during a red carpet interview. “Discovering it felt like a miracle—both that it existed and that it fit perfectly. It immediately felt right for the ‘Garden of Time’ theme.”
When asked about her favorite part of the evening, the 28-year-old highlighted the camaraderie. “It’s about these moments, seeing friends and celebrating everyone’s creativity,” she said, noting she had just spoken with fellow attendee Emma Chamberlain and praised singer Lana Del Rey’s look.
The gala evening carried an undercurrent of personal history, as Jenner and Bad Bunny ended their romantic relationship in late 2023. Despite the split, they were reportedly seen together shortly afterward, and sources close to the model have previously described the dynamic as “very up and down.”
Insiders suggest that while the pair have remained in contact, Jenner’s inner circle has expressed reservations about the long-term prospects of the relationship, noting they have seen her “happier before in past relationships.”
Adding to the constellation of former partners present, Jenner’s ex-boyfriend, basketball player Ben Simmons, was also in attendance at the museum for the opening of the Costume Institute’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibition.
