During a recent television appearance, country music icon Reba McEntire found herself playfully correcting the show’s host. The mix-up occurred when the host referred to McEntire’s partner, actor Rex Linn, as her husband.
“Now, wait a minute,” McEntire interjected with a laugh. “Before everybody has a conniption fit at home, we’re just engaged.” She explained she wanted to avoid any confusion, especially for family members who might wonder why they hadn’t been informed of a wedding.
The couple, who have been engaged since late last year, appeared together for the interview. McEntire spoke warmly about their professional and personal partnership, noting they currently work together on a television series. “We’re so grateful that we get to go to work together and then go home together,” she shared, adding that Linn’s dedication to rehearsal has been a great help to her.
Their relationship began several years ago, rekindling a friendship that dates back decades. McEntire has previously shared that a supportive phone call from Linn during a difficult family time marked the beginning of their romantic connection.
As for future plans, the singer indicated that their wedding will be a relaxed affair. “It’s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food,” she said, emphasizing that their main goal is simply to enjoy the celebration.
