POSTHUMOUS MEMOIR DETAILS ENCOUNTER WITH ROYAL FIGURE

by Hannah Southwick

A memoir released posthumously recounts a meeting between a young woman and a prominent British royal in 2001, including the circumstances behind a widely circulated photograph.

The book describes the day of the encounter, beginning with the woman being informed she would meet a “handsome prince.” Preparations reportedly involved shopping for an outfit. Upon the royal’s arrival, his age and her youth were reportedly discussed in a casual manner.

The account details how the now-infamous photograph came to be. According to the memoir, the idea for a picture was the young woman’s, motivated by a desire to have proof of the meeting. A disposable camera was used, and the image was captured by another individual present.

The narrative continues into the evening, describing a visit to a nightclub where they danced. Later, at a residence, the memoir states the woman was directed to provide the royal with the same “services” she provided to another man. The encounter is described as brief, with specific physical details noted, and ended with a verbal acknowledgment.

The following day, the woman was reportedly told she had performed well and was given a sum of money for her role. The royal at the center of these allegations has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
