The announcement of the suitors for the upcoming season of a popular dating show has prompted a public reaction from the star’s former romantic partner.

Dakota Mortensen, the ex-boyfriend of newly announced ‘Bachelorette’ lead Taylor Frankie Paul, left a notable comment online following the reveal of the men who will be vying for her affection. Responding to a social media post detailing the new contestants, Mortensen wrote from a verified account, “Making me wanna go win my baby momma back.”

The remark quickly circulated, drawing mixed responses from observers. Some urged Mortensen to respect Paul’s new chapter, while others interpreted his comment as a calculated attempt to insert himself into the narrative.

Paul, a mother of three, was selected to headline the famed dating series earlier this year. She has spoken publicly about the logistical challenges of participating, citing her co-parenting responsibilities. “My children, my home base is here. Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?” she questioned in a recent podcast interview.

During that same conversation, Paul addressed the nature of her current relationship with Mortensen, alluding to a brief encounter earlier this year but confirming they had agreed to see other people. She acknowledged she had not personally informed him of her ‘Bachelorette’ role prior to the public announcement, speculating he might find the process difficult to watch.

Paul first gained widespread attention due to her involvement in a controversial relationship dynamic within a specific religious community, which was documented on a reality television series. Her subsequent relationship with Mortensen was also featured on the program before ending following legal issues in 2023.

Her season of the dating show is scheduled to premiere next year.
