REALITY TV STAR BELIEVES SHOW PREVENTED EARLIER END TO ADOPTION CONTACT AGREEMENT

A public figure known for her role in a long-running documentary series about young motherhood has stated that the program is the primary reason the adoptive parents of her biological daughter maintained contact for as long as they did.

In a recent interview, she suggested that without the platform and scrutiny of the series, the adoptive parents would have severed communication years earlier. She cited statistics indicating that most open adoptions close within the first five years, a decision typically made by the adoptive family, not the birth parents.

“The fundamental issue with these arrangements is that they are not legally binding,” she explained. “They are based on a verbal promise, and anyone can choose to walk away from that.”

The situation came to a head recently when the adoptive parents formally blocked contact. According to the birth mother, they informed an adoption counselor that this decision was made for their own “mental health,” a justification she found deeply upsetting. The adoptive parents also reportedly requested that gifts no longer be sent to the child.

Feeling her story was being suppressed, the birth mother decided to speak publicly. “They have my child, but they can’t control my narrative,” her partner added in support.

The birth mother expressed a firm belief that she is owed an apology for how the situation has been handled, rejecting any suggestion that she should be the one to apologize. For now, the couple has stated they will not actively pursue a relationship with their biological daughter until she initiates contact herself as an adult.
