A personal stylist has publicly addressed a financial disagreement with a high-profile client, offering his side of a story that recently spilled into the public eye. The dispute centers on charges for a hotel stay during a work trip.
The stylist, Chris Dylan, explained in a detailed social media video that the issue began in late 2024. He claims he was asked by his client, reality television personality Dorit Kemsley, to extend a hotel stay by several days to assist with her preparation for professional appearances. According to Dylan, Kemsley’s credit card was the primary form on file for the reservation, with his own card listed as a secondary payment method.
The conflict arose at checkout. Dylan states that his card was charged for the entire stay instead of Kemsley’s. When he sought reimbursement, he alleges Kemsley refused, accusing him of having the hotel transfer the charges to her card without her authorization. Dylan maintains that all charges were legitimate and pre-authorized, and that the matter could have been resolved quickly through direct communication rather than, as he claims, ignored invoices.
Kemsley presented a different account during a recent television appearance. She asserted that Dylan had submitted an invoice that attempted to “double-charge” her, including fees for a hotel she says he had already paid for using her card without permission. She characterized allegations of non-payment from various quarters as baseless.
The disagreement gained wider attention when another public figure, Tracy Tutor, commented on the situation during a radio interview, suggesting Kemsley had a pattern of delayed payments with several service providers. Tutor later stated on social media that Dylan had finally received payment in full, a development Dylan confirmed with gratitude.
In his video statement, Dylan emphasized he does not typically air grievances online but felt compelled to respond after being discussed publicly and receiving numerous media inquiries. The stylist included screenshots of text messages in his presentation, one of which showed Kemsley directly accusing him of moving hotel charges to her card without consent—an accusation he repeatedly denied in their exchange.
The situation highlights the sometimes-complicated financial dynamics between celebrities and the professionals they hire, where disagreements over expenses can escalate into public disputes.
