Actress Ashley Park has shared insights into the upcoming fifth season of the popular series Emily in Paris, describing the production as an expansive experience that ventured beyond the show’s usual Parisian setting.
Reflecting on the recent trailer release, Park noted that filming spanned multiple locations, making the season feel particularly substantial. “We filmed in Paris, of course, but also in Italy, which brought a completely different energy,” she said. The change in scenery offered a fresh dynamic for the cast, with Park humorously adding that the Italian leg of production involved enjoying “so much pasta.”
The actress, who plays Mindy Chen, expressed enthusiasm for the new season, suggesting it introduces novel challenges and destinations for the characters. “It’s exciting to explore new places within the story. It keeps everything feeling vibrant,” she remarked.
Beyond her work on the series, Park is currently involved in a cultural art installation in New York titled CHROMA: Tales Between Hues. The project, developed in collaboration with Genesis House, explores Korean folklore through color and immersive design.
Park described the installation as a meaningful fusion of her personal heritage with her artistic pursuits. “It’s about connecting with Korean traditions in a contemporary way and sharing that universal language of emotion through color and story,” she explained. The experience is designed to be accessible, allowing visitors to engage with the themes on a personal level.
The actress also spoke about her evolving perspective on representing her culture in her work. “There was a time when I wondered about that responsibility, but now I see it as a point of pride. It’s about creating something that resonates and feels authentic,” she said.
CHROMA: Tales Between Hues is now open to the public in New York’s Meatpacking District.
