Following the event, the designer shared detailed notes on social media, explaining that the nearly 3,000 meters of organza in the piece were meant to symbolize “vast black soil” in line with the gala’s “The Garden of Time” theme.
Many social media users expressed disappointment, suggesting that not naming the designer publicly was a missed opportunity and disrespectful to the artistry involved. Comments ranged from calling the oversight “insulting” to noting that the designer’s work was ultimately overshadowed.
