During a recent court proceeding, testimony revealed the emotional impact on a woman’s new partner when he learned of a serious allegation against her former longtime boyfriend.

The woman, a singer, testified that she informed her now-husband, a personal trainer, that she had been sexually assaulted by the famous music executive in 2018. According to the testimony, her partner’s immediate reaction was one of intense anger, resulting in him punching a wall.

The allegation centers on an encounter in September 2018, which the woman described as rape. She stated a subsequent encounter with the executive days later was consensual. The executive has categorically denied the rape allegation.

Under cross-examination, the executive’s defense attorney presented text messages from late September 2018 that showed affectionate exchanges between the singer and the executive. The attorney suggested the rape claim was fabricated to explain these communications to her new partner. When questioned about not mentioning the alleged assault in those texts, the singer confirmed she had not.

She explained the consensual encounter by noting the difficulty of ending a decade-long relationship, stating, “You just don’t turn feelings off that way.”

The court also heard that the singer’s partner has been present in the courtroom for support but was excluded during her testimony about the alleged assault, as he may be called as a witness later in the trial.

Additional testimony revealed the last time the singer saw the executive in person prior to the trial was at a memorial service for his former partner in November 2018. Text messages from that time indicate ongoing tension and unresolved questions between them following the end of their relationship.
