Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is making a highly anticipated return to reality television, joining the upcoming season of a popular series set in Beverly Hills. The decision marks her first major television commitment in over a decade.
Zoe, whose previous show concluded in 2013, explained that the timing felt right for a comeback. “The past ten years have been about building my businesses and raising my sons,” she stated. “My life has evolved significantly, both personally and professionally. I reached a point where I felt I had meaningful experiences to share, and the opportunity to connect with this group of women aligned perfectly with this new chapter.”
The offer to join the cast arrived during a pivotal family moment, as she was en route to her eldest son’s middle school graduation. She described the coincidence as emotional and surreal.
Addressing speculation about her motivations, Zoe was direct. “Let’s be clear, this isn’t about a paycheck,” she said. “The narratives out there can be absurd.” Instead, she emphasized a desire for authentic connection, acknowledging that while her world of high fashion might seem distant to some, the personal challenges and emotions she navigates are universally relatable. “I live my life in a very normal way most of the time,” she noted.
Reflecting on the media environment since her last show, Zoe observed significant changes. “The speed of information now is staggering. Something can spread globally in a minute,” she commented, calling the modern digital landscape a surreal shift from the earlier era of her career.
Her initial series was credited with inspiring a generation to enter the styling industry, a legacy she hears about regularly from aspiring professionals. The new production, however, promises a different dynamic. She described the filming process as organic and enjoyable, allowing for natural interactions rather than staged moments.
When it comes to her iconic style, Zoe insists her approach remains spontaneous. “Whether then or now, I’m often winging it. It’s less about a meticulous plan and more about ready, set, go,” she revealed.
She expressed particular enthusiasm about reuniting with longtime friend Kathy Hilton on camera and sharing the screen with Bozoma Saint John, whom she previously hosted on her podcast and greatly admires. Hilton’s involvement, Zoe shared, was a significant factor in her decision to accept the role.
Zoe’s return signals a new phase for the stylist, one where she aims to present an updated portrait of her life and career to audiences.
