A former recording artist has delivered detailed and graphic testimony in federal court, alleging she repeatedly witnessed a prominent music executive physically assault his then-partner over many years.
The witness, who was once part of a musical group with the executive, testified under oath about a pattern of alleged violence. She described seeing the executive punch, choke, drag, and slap the victim. Specific incidents were recounted, including an alleged assault at a public concert and another at a restaurant where other industry figures were present.
In one particularly stark allegation, the witness claimed the executive once attempted to strike the victim with a hot frying pan during an argument over a meal, causing the victim to fall to the ground.
The testimony is part of a broader legal proceeding against the executive, who faces serious charges. The witness also asserted that several other individuals associated with the executive’s company were present and witnessed the alleged abuse.
During cross-examination, defense attorneys questioned the consistency of the witness’s account of the frying pan incident, suggesting minor variations in her retelling. The witness maintained her story was consistent. Defense counsel subsequently moved to have that portion of the testimony stricken from the record, arguing it was not relevant to the core charge at hand, a motion the judge has taken under consideration.
The witness herself has separate, pending legal action against the same executive, alleging her own experiences of manipulation and abuse.
