The former partner of ex-NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez has issued a public statement in the wake of his recent arrest on serious charges. Erin Campaneris, a model known professionally as Bobby T, emphasized that her primary concern is the well-being of the eight-year-old son she shares with Sanchez.
Campaneris stated she learned of the incident, which authorities describe as a violent altercation in Indianapolis, through a news alert. She expressed that the development was, sadly, not a surprise to her, citing long-standing concerns for her child’s safety and the environments to which he is exposed.
“My focus has not changed,” she wrote. “My thoughts are with the victim and all those affected by this devastating event, which has created a wide ripple effect.”
She concluded her message with a request for privacy, describing herself as a mother dedicated to protecting her young son’s peace.
The statement follows an incident earlier this month where Sanchez, 38, was reportedly involved in a physical confrontation with a 69-year-old man outside a bar. According to police reports, the altercation began after the older man’s vehicle made contact with a loading dock. The situation escalated, resulting in Sanchez being stabbed and pepper-sprayed. The other individual involved sustained a facial injury.
Prosecutors have characterized the event as an unnecessary conflict that led to severe injuries. Sanchez was treated at a local hospital before being taken into custody. He now faces criminal charges, including a felony count of battery. If convicted, he could potentially face several years in prison.
Following his release on bail, Sanchez made brief comments to reporters, thanking medical personnel and stating he is focused on his recovery from his injuries. He declined to discuss the specifics of the case.
A court hearing related to the matter is scheduled for next month.
