FORMER REALITY STAR ADDRESSES ABSENCE FROM CO-STAR’S MEMORIAL

A former cast member of the reality series “Floribama Shore” has publicly clarified her reasons for not attending a recent memorial service for a late colleague, stating she was not invited to the gathering.

Kortni Gilson, who left the show during its third season, responded to online criticism regarding her absence from the event honoring Kirk Medas, who passed away earlier this month. In a social media statement, Gilson emphasized that respecting the loss experienced by Medas’s family and friends was paramount.

She explicitly noted that she did not receive an invitation to participate in the memorial or celebration of life, despite reaching out to several former castmates and Medas’s mother. Acknowledging that she would not be welcome, Gilson stated she chose to proceed with prior commitments, which included attending a best friend’s bachelorette party in Arizona where she served as maid of honor.

Gilson clarified that the scheduling overlap was coincidental and not a deliberate choice to miss the memorial. She concluded her message by expressing that she is at peace with not being included and requested privacy from further public scrutiny.

The news of Kirk Medas’s passing was initially shared by fellow “Floribama Shore” personality Aimee Hall, who posted a heartfelt tribute on social media. Hall described Medas as a kind soul and a unifying spirit whose absence has left a void.

Prior to his death, Medas had been hospitalized for two weeks in intensive care due to necrotizing pancreatitis.
