FORMER SPOUSE’S INSIGHT INTO A ROYAL ROMANCE SURFACES IN RECENT PODCAST

by Hannah Southwick

A recent podcast appearance has brought forward a personal anecdote concerning the early days of a now-famous royal relationship. The story originates from a brief romantic connection in 2016.

The individual sharing the account stated that during that time, they were introduced to a film producer who mentioned his former wife was an actress on a legal drama series, a show the podcaster was unfamiliar with at the time. Months later, upon seeing news photographs of a British prince with a new partner, the podcaster reached out to the producer to ask if it was indeed his ex-wife. The producer confirmed it was.

According to the recollection, the podcaster then inquired if the producer believed the relationship would become serious, using colloquial phrasing about “closing” a deal. The producer reportedly responded with certainty that it would, implying he believed marriage was a likely outcome.

The podcaster declined to elaborate further on the exchange but offered general commentary on the public figure at the center of the story, suggesting she navigates multiple roles and that such a high-profile life presents inherent challenges of identity and perception. The remarks briefly touched upon the difficulty of balancing a traditionally formal public role with appearances in markedly different social spheres.

The producer involved has since remarried and started a family. The royal couple in question began their relationship in 2016, became engaged the following year, married in 2018, and are now parents to two young children.
