FORMER TV BRIDE COUNTERS EX-HUSBAND’S MEMOIR CLAIMS, SAYS WEDDING SHOULD HAVE BEEN HALTED

In a recent public statement, a woman has responded to allegations published in her former husband’s new memoir, asserting that he should have canceled their televised wedding rather than proceed with a union he allegedly did not want.

The memoir, which details the author’s experiences with love and loss, contains what the former bride describes as significant inaccuracies regarding their short-lived marriage. She has taken issue with the narrative presented, stating that the recounted events do not match reality.

“You did no favors by marrying someone you did not truly wish to marry,” she said, addressing her ex-husband directly. “Regardless of the television cameras, this was our actual lives. You should have stopped it.”

She further expressed that she would have understood and even supported him if he had chosen to be with another individual from their shared public experience. “I would have applauded that decision,” she noted.

The couple’s marriage, which was broadcast live to millions of viewers in early 2024, ended after only a few months. According to the memoir, the pair returned to their separate homes shortly after the ceremony, with the author later making a lengthy drive for a visit that he describes as awkward. He wrote of feeling like an outsider in her home and claimed they did not share a bed during that initial stay.

The former bride has firmly denied this account. She contends that they did share a bed the first night, and that it was her then-husband who later offered to sleep on the sofa to accommodate her need for rest. Motivated to make him comfortable, she says she promptly purchased a new king-size bed and renovated the primary bedroom, sending him updates on the progress.

“He never returned,” she stated, adding that his subsequent skepticism about the renovations was hurtful.

The pair announced the dissolution of their marriage in a joint television appearance in the spring of 2024, citing a mutual decision. However, the publication of the memoir has reportedly caused considerable distress, compelling the former bride to break her silence and present her side of the story. She says she felt obligated to respond after reading his version of their shared history.
