Jenelle Evans has publicly responded to recent reports surrounding the arrest of her ex-partner, Nathan Griffith, clarifying her role in the incident and criticizing media coverage.
In a social media post, Evans disputed claims that she provided Griffith shelter while police were present. She stated she had offered him a place to stay hours before authorities arrived, following a distressed phone call from him. According to Evans, Griffith had contacted her after a dispute with his girlfriend, expressing a desire to leave before the situation escalated.
Evans recounted that when Griffith arrived at her home, law enforcement was already outside. She described encouraging him to cooperate, but said he was reluctant, fearing arrest due to a probation violation related to consuming alcohol. The situation culminated with police entering the home to take him into custody.
Reflecting on the altercation that led to the police call, Evans cited a conversation Griffith had with his mother, during which his girlfriend allegedly stated that Griffith had gotten on top of her, which frightened her, but that he had not strangled her. Evans emphasized her belief that both individuals shared responsibility for the incident.
In her statements, Evans also took the opportunity to reference her past relationship with Griffith, alluding to having been a victim of domestic violence during that time, a subject she says she does not frequently discuss publicly.
Griffith was arrested in late April on charges including alleged strangulation and violation of probation.
