In a recent television appearance, a mother has spoken publicly for the first time about the suicide of her adult son, revealing she was acutely aware of his ongoing personal struggles.
She described their close communication, noting they typically spoke multiple times a day. In the hours before his death, however, their text exchanges suddenly ceased. She shared that she was aware he had been battling cycles of alcohol abuse and depression, prompting her to reach out to his siblings that evening to check on him.
After falling asleep, she was awakened by a devastating phone call informing her that her son had been found deceased at his residence.
Authorities have indicated the death was the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to statements in the initial police report, a roommate described the young man as depressed and struggling with alcoholism, though nothing said on his final night was seen as an immediate warning sign. A family member also told investigators that while there were known mental health and substance abuse challenges, there had been recent signs of improvement.
The family has previously expressed profound grief over the loss, describing their son as a bright light whose absence is deeply felt, and have requested privacy as they mourn.
