NEW ALLEGATIONS SURFACE IN DECADES-OLD TUPAC SHAKUR MURDER CASE

From his prison cell, former music executive Suge Knight has made pointed remarks regarding the 1996 murder of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur, indirectly implicating fellow mogul Sean Combs.

Knight, currently serving a lengthy sentence for an unrelated homicide, referenced a previously undisclosed 2009 police interview during a recent discussion. In that interview, Duane Davis, a man charged in connection with Shakur’s killing, suggested Combs had a motive to see both Shakur and Knight removed from the scene.

According to the account, Davis told investigators that Combs had expressed intense fear of Knight and had allegedly stated he would “give anything” to see him dealt with. Davis further claimed, in a separate 2008 interview documented by federal authorities, that he was offered a substantial sum to “handle the problem” of the two rival figures.

While not naming Combs directly, Knight’s recent statements strongly alluded to him. “Everybody knows where a million dollars came from,” Knight remarked, adding, “I believe that if something smells like it, looks like it, it is.”

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has previously stated that Combs was never considered a suspect in the Shakur homicide investigation. Combs has consistently and forcefully denied any involvement in the rapper’s death. He is currently embroiled in a separate federal trial in New York on unrelated charges.

Reflecting on the personal impact of the tragedy, Knight described Shakur as his “favorite person in the world,” stating that a part of him died with the artist. “He didn’t have to die,” Knight concluded.

The decades-old case, which has been the subject of countless theories, faces renewed scrutiny following these latest claims from a central figure in the hip-hop world of the 1990s.
