ROYAL COUPLE TO FORGO TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY GATHERING AMID REPORTED STRAINS

The Prince and Princess of Wales are reported to be altering their holiday plans this season, choosing not to attend the royal family’s customary Christmas Day luncheon at Sandringham. While the couple is expected to participate in the morning’s church service alongside other members of the monarchy, they will reportedly depart afterward to celebrate the remainder of the day with the Princess’s relatives.

Sources indicate this decision follows a challenging period for the family. The move marks the second consecutive year the couple has opted out of the formal midday gathering. Last year, they were said to have hosted a separate, more private celebration at their own residence.

The annual luncheon is a longstanding tradition, with former palace staff detailing a classic festive menu featuring roast turkey, all the customary trimmings, and a ceremoniously presented Christmas pudding. Despite the change in their lunch plans, the Princess remains engaged in public festive duties. She is preparing to host a major Christmas carol service in London, an event focused on themes of community and compassion, which other senior royals are anticipated to attend.

The holiday season often highlights the balancing act between public tradition and private family life for members of the monarchy. This year’s arrangements have drawn particular attention as observers note the evolving dynamics within the royal household.
