SINGER DETAILS STRUGGLE WITH ADDICTION AMID ALLEGATIONS OF COERCION AND ABUSE

In emotional testimony delivered this week in a federal courtroom, a singer detailed how she developed a dependency on prescription painkillers during a long-term relationship with a prominent music executive, who is now facing serious criminal charges.

The artist stated that her reliance on opiates began as a method to cope. She described using the pills to intentionally numb herself, seeking an escape from her circumstances. “They made me feel nothing, and that’s why I leaned on them so much,” she told the court.

Her testimony is part of a broader trial where the executive is accused of a pattern of illicit activities. The singer alleged that intense, multi-day parties were a regular feature of their relationship. To recover from these events, which she said involved significant substance use, she would turn to opiates. She recounted that the executive would arrange for medical-style aftercare, including IV fluids and massages.

The physical toll, she said, was severe. She testified to developing chronic stomach problems and recurrent urinary tract infections that became so frequent that standard antibiotic treatments ceased to be effective. At times, she was compelled to participate in activities even while suffering from these infections, she alleged.

Further describing a lifestyle she felt pressured into, the singer said she was frequently taken to exclusive adult clubs. She admitted she would drink heavily during these outings because she did not want to experience them sober. While there, she said she was expected to engage with strangers to facilitate what she characterized as the executive’s preferred lifestyle.

Within this dynamic, she identified one regular companion as a “safe place,” someone she preferred over unknown individuals. She testified that this person once witnessed an act of violence against her. The assaults, she claimed, were not isolated. “He would grab me, push me down, hit me in the head, kick me. You name it,” she stated, alleging the abuse happened often.

The singer concluded that the entire experience left her feeling profoundly “empty.” Her testimony paints a picture of a decade-long relationship marred by alleged coercion, substance dependency, and physical abuse.
