A family dispute has erupted into public view following new allegations from a son concerning his mother’s past conduct during her marriage.
Collin Gosselin has publicly claimed his mother, Kate Gosselin, was involved in an extramarital affair with the family’s former bodyguard, Steve Neild, years before her divorce from Jon Gosselin was finalized. The accusations come after Kate recently confirmed a romantic relationship with Neild, whom she described as a boyfriend of over a year.
In a series of social media posts, Collin asserted the relationship began far earlier, alleging instances during family vacations where he was placed in adjoining hotel rooms while his mother and the bodyguard shared accommodations. “What really upsets me is that my mom had an affair with our bodyguard way back in 2009,” he stated.
He further contended that his father, Jon Gosselin, was wrongly vilified for years amid claims he was unfaithful and abandoned the family. “My dad received death threats and got shunned by the public for years,” Collin wrote, expressing hope that the full truth would now be acknowledged.
Jon Gosselin appeared to corroborate his son’s account online, posting an image of Kate and Neild with a caption suggesting she was responsible for the marriage’s dissolution.
Despite the gravity of the claims, Collin insisted his motivation was not to create drama but to address what he views as a profound injustice. “I’m not big on drama… However, I feel very strongly on the matter of cheating and then blaming someone else for your own actions,” he explained. He described himself and his father as having “suffered the damage” and “cried together from all the hurt.”
The Gosselins, who gained fame with a reality television series, married in 1999 and are parents to twins and sextuplets. Their divorce was finalized in 2009 amid mutual allegations of infidelity, which Jon has consistently denied.
Collin’s detailed allegations include specific references to past living arrangements and television productions, directly challenging his mother’s narrative. “You told me I broke our family when you couldn’t stay true to my dad,” he wrote, addressing Kate. “I’m done staying quiet.”
