Former reality television personality Sonja Morgan has publicly addressed and denied recent allegations that she was banned from the popular fitness chain SoulCycle. Reports had suggested the ban was a result of disruptive conduct, including talking during classes and an alleged confrontation with staff.
The claims originated from a former instructor featured on a podcast, who stated that Morgan, while a member at a New York City location, was asked to be less disruptive after a class. The instructor alleged that Morgan became argumentative, invoking her celebrity status. This interaction was cited as the reason for her purported removal from the studio.
In a statement, Morgan firmly rejected the narrative. “I was never in the front row of SoulCycle,” she said, directly countering one specific claim. She also denied ever using the phrase “Do you know who I am?” to studio staff. “Quite the opposite,” Morgan stated. “I don’t like attention.”
Morgan emphasized her positive relationship with the brand, noting that many of her friends are loyal customers. She also framed her public profile as a platform for advocacy rather than personal gain. “I think it’s terrible when people use other people’s long, hard work to highlight themselves selfishly for short-term gain,” she remarked, adding that she prefers to use her position to support charitable causes.
The former Real Housewives of New York City star, who left the Bravo series in 2021, recently discussed other life changes, including the sale of her longtime New York townhouse. Citing her status as an “empty nester,” Morgan explained that maintaining the large property no longer made sense for her lifestyle, despite the personal significance of the home.
Morgan last appeared on television in 2023, co-starring with former colleague Luann de Lesseps in the series Welcome to Crappie Lake.
