SUSPECT IN POLITICAL FIGURE’S KILLING REMAINS SILENT, POINTS TO “LOOKALIKE”

The individual arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of political commentator Charlie Kirk is refusing to cooperate with investigators, according to state officials. Instead, the suspect has reportedly claimed his “doppelgänger” was responsible for the attack.

Authorities confirmed the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has not been providing information since his arrest last week. The investigation is proceeding based on forensic evidence and statements from individuals close to him, including family members.

Reports indicate that prior to his detention, Robinson allegedly told a relative he was involved in the incident, which occurred during a public event at a Utah university. However, in conversations with acquaintances on an online platform, he presented a different story. He reportedly insisted a lookalike was attempting to frame him and even made a joking reference to a financial reward offered in the case.

In these online exchanges, the suspect made several sardonic remarks, mocking law enforcement and making light of the evidence-gathering process. He also attempted to deflect blame geographically, suggesting without evidence that the perpetrator must be from another state.

While Robinson remains uncooperative, another individual described as his roommate and romantic partner has been providing statements to law enforcement. Officials have stated this person had no prior knowledge of any plan to target Kirk and was reportedly shocked by the allegations.

Robinson is scheduled to face formal charges this week, including aggravated murder. The legal proceedings may shed more light on a potential motive for the killing, which authorities have not yet publicly detailed.
