TRUMP SEEKS DISTANCE FROM EPSTEIN CONTROVERSY, BIOGRAPHER CLAIMS

by Nicki Gostin

A prominent biographer asserts that former President Donald Trump is actively attempting to distance himself from the long-running scandal surrounding the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to the author, Trump’s preferred strategy has been to avoid the subject entirely, a position that has become increasingly difficult as political allies have amplified calls for transparency.

The biographer suggests Trump views the ongoing discussion as a problem exacerbated by his own administration’s Justice Department. He reportedly expressed frustration that the focus has shifted toward his Attorney General, whom he has vigorously defended in public statements. In these statements, Trump framed the controversy as a politically motivated distraction, orchestrated by opponents to undermine his administration’s achievements.

The connection between Trump and Epstein has been a point of scrutiny for years, fueled in part by a past interview in which Epstein reportedly claimed a decade-long close friendship with the former president. The biographer contends that given Epstein’s ultimate fate and the symbolism he now represents, any such association is seen as a significant liability, prompting a stance of “pure denial.”

This approach has not fully quelled the unrest within his own political base. While some influential supporters have publicly stated they will defer to the administration’s handling of the matter, other proponents have expressed visible disillusionment. Reports indicate a fringe element has gone so far as to destroy campaign merchandise in protest over the perceived lack of disclosure regarding Epstein’s client list and the administration’s response.

The controversy continues to simmer as key figures in the case remain behind bars, and demands for the release of more information persist.
