The nation’s youngest-ever White House Press Secretary recently offered a glimpse into her personal life, discussing her marriage and the challenges of balancing a high-profile career with family.
The official, who is 28, is married to a 60-year-old real estate developer. The couple, who wed earlier this year, have a 32-year age difference—a fact she has addressed openly. She noted that while such an age gap can initially be surprising, the focus for her family shifted to character and mutual respect once they grew to know her husband.
“Once they saw the man he is and how much he cares for me, any concerns faded,” she explained in a recent interview. “Now we all have a great relationship.”
Their family expanded this past summer with the birth of their son. She described their blended family dynamic as strong and typical, emphasizing the deep respect between her husband and her parents.
However, the intense demands of her position have inevitably impacted personal time. She candidly admitted that the unpredictable nature of the job has made planning nearly impossible, leading to several canceled family trips and getaways this year alone.
“Frankly, I’ve developed a reluctance to make firm plans,” she stated. “We’ve learned to be spontaneous, taking full advantage of any unexpected free evening together.”
Despite the sacrifices, she maintains a forward-looking and positive perspective, viewing the professional challenges as part of what makes the role dynamic. She frames the current demanding phase as a temporary chapter in a longer journey, committed to navigating its pressures while cherishing family moments whenever they arise.
